The Homebound Program helps meet the needs of eligible clients who are terminally ill or disabled and unable to obtain food in person at our Third Street facility. Eagle's Wings gets leads from its own records, Meals on Wheels, home healthcare workers, and other clients. Social Services sent an initial mailing, containing a form potential clients could fill out and return to apply for the Homebound Program.
A team of two volunteers conducts an initial interview with a potential client to qualify them to receive food. Afterwards, food deliveries are made once a month to clients in Washington, Chocowinity, and Aurora.
Clients are divided into routes according to geographical location. Volunteers maintain a driver's log and record each visit and a client signature in a notebook. Notebooks are returned to Eagle's Wings where visits are entered into our daily records.
